Ellicottville Golf Course Reopens!

Ellicottville Golf Course Reopening April 24th.

There hasn’t been too much good news recently.  Covid 19 has taken a terrible toll on NY State, the country and the world.  We are all extremely grateful to the front line workers. They are the absolute heroes of this whole thing.  An Ellicottville golf course being closed is a very minor inconvenience compared to what they go through on a daily basis.  At the same time, we can’t deny that we’re happy that the Black Diamond course can open.

Front Nine Opened

The front nine opened on Friday April 24th.  Sensible social distancing restrictions were in place.  The clubhouse is closed and there is no food or beverage.  You must stay more than 6 feet apart so carts are not allowed.  Do not touch the flag stick and, most importantly, no high fiving.  Not a problem for most of us!  All of this is a small price to pay to be able to get outside and play a round of golf.  The cost is $20 for 9 or 18 holes.

Back Nine Opening Soon

The back nine has been open since Friday April 24th.  The back nine is opening on Saturday May 2nd.  The same rules apply.  No carts, no food, no touching the flag stick and still no high fiving.  Otherwise, have fun!

Holiday Valley Double Black Diamond Golf Course

The Double Black Diamond golf course at Holiday Valley is probably the most famous Ellicottville golf course.  It’s a challenging layout.  The course covers the lower slopes of Holiday Valley ski resort.  A par 70, it’s a 6500 yard links that can cater to every level of golfer.  It’s also surprisingly reasonable.  Green fees top out at $54 for 18 holes on a Friday or Saturday.  There is also an excellent practice facility.  The driving range can accommodate drives of up to 300 yards which should be long enough for all but the biggest hitters.
